The Chennai police following a complaint by the US embassy officials. The actress had gone to the embassy,

along with assistant Sri Latha, for her VISA clearance. On finding that some of the documents submitted by the

were not authentic the VISA officials questioned Asha and her agent, Venkat Reddy, and not receiving relevant


information the police were called in. Asha Saini and her assistant were arrested on charges of submitting forged documents.
